Vocational Admission Process
What is the step-by-step admission process for International Students?
For Canada SkillPath applicants, the admission process for 3–6 month vocational training is highly optimized and significantly faster than traditional university routes.
- Step 1: Program & School Selection
- Choose your field: Trades, Hospitality, Healthcare, IT, Business, etc.
- Pick a DLI school: Must be on IRCC’s Designated Learning Institution list.
- Check intakes: Vocational schools have rolling intakes every month.
- Step 2: Meet Basic Requirements
- Age: 18+ years. Education: High school diploma.
- English: IELTS 5.0–5.5 or in-house test.
- Passport: Valid for at least 1 year.
- Step 3: Submit Application File Application form, passport, certificates, CV, $100–$250 CAD fee.
- Step 4: Get Letter of Admission (LOA) Processing: 3 days to 3 weeks. Deposit: $1,000–$3,000 CAD.
- Step 5: Use LOA for Visa Under 6 months: Visitor Visa. 6 months+: Study Permit.
- Step 6: Pre-Arrival Setup Flights, insurance, accommodation.

Do courses under 6 months require a formal Study Permit?
No. Courses of 6 months or less do not legally require a study permit. You apply for a Visitor Visa / TRV and carry your LOA.
